Learning foreign languages online

There are many reasons to learn a new language or improve your knowledge of
one that you have learned in the past. Since the arrival of the Internet, it
is no longer necessary to spend a lot of time and money going to a boring college
course, where after two years you still haven't learned enough to get by in
a foreign country.
On this page I have collected a variety of courses that are fun and available
entirely online, so that you can study from the comfort of your home. They are
also reasonably-priced to make them affordable to everybody. Please use the
form at the bottom in order to sign-up. Note: if not stated otherwise, these
courses are delivered via e-mail. After the period you initially paid for is
over, you will not automatically be enrolled for a longer period.
Types of courses:
- comprehensive : you receive extensive lessons consisting of a dialogue or
text, vocabulary, grammar, exercises and cultural information. Each lesson
is designed to keep you busy for about a week in regular study. Once you have
completed the exercises, you can send them to the tutor, who will correct
them and answer any questions before sending you the next lesson. This way,
the course progresses at the pace you set. Request

if you'd like sound files of the text and vocabulary.
- bite-sized : same as above, except that the lessons are shorter and designed
to be completed in just one session. Request

50 Euros for 5 lessons, 80 Euros if you'd like sound
files of the text and vocabulary.
- conversation *: using Skype, Paltalk or MSN Messenger, you will talk to
a teacher of your chosen language and improve your ability to have conversations
as well as your accent, vocabulary and fluency. 100
Euros for 5 lessons.
- tutor : you don't receive any actual lessons, but you get a contact address
that you can ask any questions about the language you're studying, ask for
explanations and corrections. 60 Euros for 3 months.
- song a week *: every week you receive a legal mp3 of a song in your chosen
language, the lyrics of it and an explanation of difficult vocabulary and
grammar items. Improve your language skills by listening to music! 30
Euros for 3 months.
- jokes a week *: every week you receive a few jokes in your chosen language
with explanations of difficult vocabulary and grammar items. Improve your
knowledge of a language while laughing! 30 Euros for
3 months.
- word a day : every day you receive a selected word of your target language
along with examples of how it is used. Just by reading that e-mail every day,
you can learn at least 30 new words a month! 30 Euros
for 3 months.
