Note: I am really busy at the moment and I drown in Latin tests and
questions every day. Because of that, I am sometimes not able to
answer them all. I do however guarantee that every test sent in with a

Cicero about Pompeius
Cicero saepe magnam auctoritatem Pompei imperatoris laudat; de eius
virtute multa narrat. Propter eam virtutem senatores Pompeium
imperatorem belli Mithridatici nominaverunt. Cicero apud senatores
"Pompeius", inquit, "civitatem e calamitatibus servabit et superbia
Mithridatis liberabit. Virtute et scientia adversarios superabit. Asia
non iam in summo periculo erit; nam Pompeius iam saepe in summo
discrime imperatorem bonum se praebuit. Sociis nostris non iam
servitus aspera imminebit."
