Latin course for the Virtual School of Languages

Latin classes

If you can't find the discipline or motivation to study your Latin lessons regularly, 
or if you would like more opportunities to practise, more detailed explanations
and more interaction when learning Latin, this is for you.

I'm now offering to bring students together and teach Latin classes online. For
this term, there will be three classes:

    Latin I
     
      For absolute beginners. No previous knowledge of Latin is assumed. We'll 
      start at lesson 1. 
Chats on Wednesdays, 7pm GMT (2pm EST).
      
  
   
    Latin II
    For upper beginner students. We'll start at lesson 17. 
Chats on Thursdays, 7pm GMT (2pm EST).
 
  
   
    Pliny the Younger
    For advanced students who have completed the lessons. We'll 
      read Pliny the Younger's letters to Tacitus, a fascinating eye-witness report 
      about the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79.
Chats on Tuesdays, 7pm GMT (2pm EST). 
  

Every class will have a private discussion forum where I will post additional  
exercises, notes and explanations (and the text of Pliny's letters in the case of the
3rd class). Every student is welcome to post his questions, translation attempts and 
comments there and to interact with the other students. Additionally, we will be 
meeting once a week in a private chatroom in order to go through the current text
together.

This term will start on January 23rd and last 15 weeks, after which the 
students of  'Latin I'  will be ready to continue with 'Latin II'. The pace of 'Latin II' 
and 'Pliny the Younger' will be decided by the students.

Since I don't intend to make money out of this, the enrollment fee is only 30 Euros 
or 35 American Dollars per student for this term - only 2 Euros per week and less 
than 50 cents per hour of teaching you'll receive. In order to enroll, please send an 
e-mail titled "Enrollment" to sprachprofi@gmx.net with the course name, your name, 
knowledge of Latin and other languages (if applicable) and your Yahoo user name.
Note that your enrollment won't be complete until you have also transferred the
enrollment fee via Paypal to sprachprofi@gmx.net . (All major credit cards accepted)

If you'd prefer a private teacher, I can recommend Yvonne Mueller. She has been
helping me find materials for the course and correcting tests and I can attest to her
knowledge of Latin.
